Artist's Comments

An extremely spur-of-the-moment sketch. A friend of mine twisted to sit like this suddenly in class the other day and my odd little brain suddenly went "DRAW".

Only... it wouldn't let me just do a normal sketch... oh no.

This is an OC of :iconthornqueen:'s. It's supposed to be, anyway. I was going off of a very unreliable memory for reference.

Yeah -- it's not supposed to be drawn from my point of view... :greetings:

Title is from Shakespeare's Sonnet 10:

For shame deny that thou bear'st love to any,
Who for thy self art so unprovident.
Grant, if thou wilt, thou art beloved of many,
But that thou none lov'st is most evident:
For thou art so possessed with murderous hate,
That 'gainst thy self thou stick'st not to conspire,
Seeking that beauteous roof to ruinate
Which to repair should be thy chief desire.
O! change thy thought, that I may change my mind:
Shall hate be fairer lodged than gentle love?
Be, as thy presence is, gracious and kind,
Or to thyself at least kind-hearted prove:
Make thee another self for love of me,
That beauty still may live in thine or thee.

Oh my God... Have you any idea how incredible you are? Not just that kind of 'incredible' where people say you're incredible when you do something amazing but don't really mean it in an overall sense, I mean the kind of incredible in which everything you do takes my breath away. Sure, that's not saying much when we've never met in person, so all I have to base my opinions off of is your artwork, which is utterly amazing in the utmost serious sense. I swear, if we did meet in person, you'd probably be the kind of overall incredible that your work denotes~ It's like they say, that an artist can do no art without a little bit of themselves in it. You are incredible! Awesome~! I think I cyber-love you~! :XD: Yeah, probably went too far with that last one, but I'm truly so out of it with glee that I can hardly contain myself right now!

It took me a all but a minute to figure out what and who this sketch was. I saw the little thumbnail in my dev inbox, didn't recognize it right away, and almost, almost deleted it, and then I saw it was art by you and clicked into it for the sheer reason that you did it. Hot damn, am I ever glad I love your art as much as i do to click into every piece you post! The moment I saw the enlarged version and got a gander at the little curled antennae, my jaw just about dropped. Didn't wantt o make selfish assumptions about anything, so I scrolled down the entire picture and read the comments, and then I hit a new record of squealing when i saw that it was who I thought it was!

OMG! You did fanart for Moonfly!

*dies of frenzied writer's ecstasy*

I... I don't know what to say. Correction, I don't know what to say that I haven't gushed shamelessly over in previous fanart you've done~! Sometimes it feels as if I'm repeating myself endlessly when trying to convey exactly how blown away I am by your art. This one, especially... My god, this one was so unexpected, much like the Thrillride/Sunny sketch. The thrill that hit me the moment realization hit. *whistle* It's like hitting the top of the roller coaster and looking down, while writing the comment is definitely the thrill of going down the super-steep slope.

Moonfly looks... I don't think she'd ever looked as classy as she does here.

Your friend was marvelously kind to sit in a chair for you like that. It looks a little uncomfortable, you know? It's the kind of pose one would strike for art only, maybe posing for a lover~ Not that your friend posing was a lover! *squibbles* Okay, now I'm getting away from myself... My goodness, where are my thoughts going? *shakes head* No matter, when next you see your friend, do thank her, or hug her, or whatever it is you feel comfortable with for posing like this for you. You did a wonderful job sketching the pose and then morphing into this masterpiece.

As I was saying above- I don't think I've ever seen/thought of Moonfly as looking as classy as she does here. Her lines are so sleek, her appearance so clean and lovingly attended to. Perhaps I'm reading too much into the image itself, but with the worn texture to the paper, the sketched quality, with the folds and wrinkles present, the image really does seem like an artist in love created it. A sketch created when thoughts drift, just letting the pencil ride the paper. Am I too hopeful to think that when you said it's not supposed to be from your point of view that you meant it was supposed to be Sunstreakers? If so, then I squee again for this picture!

She's beautiful, my dear. Simply beautiful.

Perhaps in reality she is not so much so, but through the eyes of an admiring artist in love, she would certainly look like the vision she is here.

And you say you did this by memory? *gapes in awe* Don't say unreliable memory, because this turned out fantastic! You should do more things by memory if they are to turn out like this jewel!

Shakespeare's Sonnet 10 was a great touch to the overall image. The deeper meaning it adds it supremely touching.

Thank you so much for this amazing piece of work! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Lol, it's nice to know you have such a high estimation of me =D In real life I think I'm a tad more insane than I let show, so... beware of that :aww:

*Cyber-love right back!*

Well, I wouldn't accidently do fanart for her if you didn't make me like her so much!! I'm a sucker for tragedy... she about personifies it =P

Ah, the friend didn't really pose as such. She just twisted into that pose for a second to talk to someone behind her, and I liked the pose so stick-personed it while she spoke and did the rest from the stick ^_^
I did glomp her though =D Her pose inspiration was a blessed way through a b o r i n g lesson :greetings:

Definitely not too hopeful :aww: I was attempting to keep that cat we discussed In The Bag, but ya kinda just set it loose there :XD:

I am a firm believer in the beauty in everyone and everything. People always comment on my portraits that they are instantly recognizable as the person I used as reference (cause I am a perfectionist and would die if they were not), but much more beautiful, romanticized; full of life and color. I imagine that sketching a lover would only amplify this innate sense of universal beauty.

Naw, it looks nothing like what she's supposed to :XD: I checked when I got home and almost facepalmed

Shakespeare has written a sonnet for everything: you just have to find the right one.
The one I selected has to do with your comment on how idealized she is in the pic, as well as giving a clue as to who 'really' drew her and why.

You're most welcome!
Thank you for fishing me out of an art rut DX

Wow. Just wow. Damn if this isn't so wonderfully beautiful. The texture and the chair makes it seem so antique, yet she's clearly a robot.. It's like a mix between Old and New. Awesome job.

Hun, it's the insanity that makes reality all the more entertaining. ;P

I'm a sucker for tragedy, too! In case someone missed that in all my writing... xD Moonfly/Virus's character sure is up there in the tragedy department. You'll get to know even more about her as Surface of the Sun and As We Come Together progress.^^

Ah, I see says the blind man.^^ Well, at least you glomped her for being your inspiration. :)

lol~ I suppose I did release that particular cat from the bag. Complete brainless moment there. *sigh* Maybe you could hide the comment until their relationship is revealed so as not to ruin others' surprise? That's probably asking too much, so I'll simply hope to Heaven that everyone suddenly becomes illiterate. xD It's only a few more chapters until the big reveal, anyways...

Your portraits are really inspiring for the life and beauty you've infused into them. I may not have seen the original people, but the light and soul you have shining in each of your creations truly brings them to life with a sense of universal beauty. For an artist doing the same for a lover, I can only imagine how much more intense the infused beauty would be.

Looks a thousand times better than my shit-tastic proposal for her! If I ever try and sketch her again in this G1-esque style, would you mind if I modeled off your design here?

Oh Shakespeare, you truly are the master of sex, love, and tragedy~

Or insanity removes our need for dull reality =D

Whoa, wait, WHAT?
You like TRAGEDY??

Get out!!

... :aww:

Haha, I shall hide it. Hope nobody saw it in that 12 day holiday ¬_¬

Model away, baby =) If you can made my bullshitting more canon, I'm all for it =D

Shakespeare is just the master, methinks

You know, it just occurred to me, maybe the reason we're all insane is to cover up the fact that there is no reality... *Twilight Zone music starts to play*

*GASP* I KNOW! It like a shock even to myself! O_o

Yeah, maybe no one saw it...

Bullshit is totally canon! :XD:
